Overview
Grouting is an engineered ground treatment process that injects a flowable material into soil or rock to fill voids, increase soil density, reduce permeability, or strengthen foundation-bearing strata. It is frequently used both as a remedial technique for existing structures showing signs of settlement, and as a preventative ground improvement measure ahead of new construction on marginal soil conditions.
Pressure Grouting
Pressure grouting injects grout material under controlled pressure to fill voids, fractures, or loose zones within soil or rock, commonly used to stabilize ground beneath existing foundations without the need for excavation.
Compaction Grouting
Compaction grouting uses a low-mobility, high-viscosity grout to densify loose granular soils through controlled displacement, increasing bearing capacity and reducing settlement risk beneath structures.
Chemical Grouting
Chemical grouts use low-viscosity reactive solutions that penetrate fine soil pores before curing, suitable for soil conditions too fine-grained for cement-based grout penetration.
Cement Grouting
Cement-based grout mixes are used for larger void filling and rock fracture sealing applications, offering a cost-effective solution where particle size of the target voids permits cement-based material penetration.
Rock Grouting
Fractured rock formations are treated with grout injection to reduce water seepage and improve rock mass stability, commonly applied in tunnel, dam, and deep foundation projects.
Foundation Grouting
Existing foundations showing signs of differential settlement can often be stabilized through targeted grout injection beneath the affected area, avoiding the cost and disruption of foundation replacement.
Void Filling
Subsurface voids identified through GPR survey or geotechnical investigation โ whether from natural dissolution, poor compaction, or material erosion โ are filled with appropriate grout material to prevent future ground collapse.
Ground Stabilization & Improvement
For sites with weak, loose, or otherwise unsuitable soil conditions identified during geotechnical investigation, engineered grouting programs improve soil properties to meet project foundation requirements, often as a more economical alternative to deep foundation systems.
